I had appointment with the ENT today to see if he could figure out whats causing the dizziness. He says its Benign Positional Vertigo and will go away on its own.
While there he had a student shadowing him and he checked out my ears and had her look too. Then he checked out my throat and made a point of pointing out my tongue to her. I have a geographical tongue. He said its nothing to worry about but its not a very common thing.
Geographic tongue (benign migratory glossitis) is a benign condition that occurs in up to 3% of the general population. Most often, patients are asymptomatic; however, some patients report increased sensitivity to hot and spicy foods. The etiology and pathogenesis are still poorly understood. The condition affects males and females and is noted to be more prominent in adults than in children.
